My Academic Journey
My five-year program at INSAT is divided into two key phases. My journey began with the challenging 2-year Integrated Preparatory Cycle, followed by a three-year specialized Engineering Program.
Preparatory Cycle: Building a Strong Foundation
The Preparatory Cycle is a hard two-year phase that lays the groundwork for engineering studies. Admission is highly competitive, based on academic records. The curriculum focuses on fundamental sciences and skills, including:
- Mathematics: Analysis, Algebra, Probability, and Statistics
- Physics: Geometric Optics, General Mechanics, Electrostatics, and Thermodynamics
- Computer Science: Algorithms, Data Structures, and Programming
- Electrical Engineering: Electric Circuits, Logic Systems, Electronics
- Soft Skills: Law and Economics
My MPI (Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science - first year) provided me with solid basics. After the first year, I chose Networks and Telecommunications (RT) as a specialization.
Engineering Cycle (3 Years): Diving into Specialization
The Engineering Cycle is a three-year phase that is equally transformative, during which I focus on advanced technical subjects across multiple domains. This comprehensive program trains engineers in computer science, telecommunications, and emerging technologies. Key courses include:
- Networking: IP Networks, Wireless Local Networks, Network architecture, and protocol design
- Telecommunications: Telecommunications systems (Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G), Transmission Techniques
- Infrastructure: UNIX administration, DevOps, Network Administration, and Cloud Computing
- Cybersecurity: Network Security, Ethical Hacking, Cryptography
- Data Science: Big Data, Machine Learning, Image processing, Data analysis, and Business intelligence
- Programming: Web development and Database management
- Academic Projects: Collaborative projects to enhance teamwork and technical expertise
This phase builds on the preparatory foundation, equipping me with practical industry skills to become a good engineer.
Club Activities
AeroBotix Club Member (First Year)
During my first year, I joined AeroBotix Club and participated in AeroDay. At this event, I learned about aeromodeling by working with a team to build a drone. It was a great experience that taught me the value of patience and teamwork.

Securinets Member (2022–2025)
As an active member of Securinets, I participate in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions and attend cybersecurity events. These experiences have sharpened my skills in ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.
ACM Member and System Administrator (2022–2025)
I joined the ACM INSAT chapter, where I got my competitive programming skills and participated in coding competitions. Additionally, as a system administrator, we build and maintain the IT infrastructure for contests, which involves connecting PCs to a submission server, and ensuring smooth communication between all systems.

Soft Skills and Personal Growth
INSAT has been a transformative experience, where I developed different soft skills:
- Teamwork: Collaborating on projects and competitions
- Self-Learning: Independently mastering new concepts
- Cross-Cultural Communication: Building Relationships with Diverse Peers in Tunisia
- Critical Thinking: Handling technical and real-world challenges
Conclusion
INSAT gave me knowledge, resilience, and friendships that turned into family. It taught me that sleepless nights spent debugging are as important as studying, and that real growth begins outside your comfort zone.
INSAT is not just a university. It's a forge where ordinary students are transformed into innovators, dreamers, and leaders. It's a second home where we don't just learn, we become,
